November 21, 2008 – Mayor Domenic J. Sarno announced today that The ExxonMobil Pipeline Corporation is providing Springfield with two (2) Community Outreach Grants which were applied for last Spring.  $2,000.00 is being awarded to the Springfield Fire Department, and $1,000.00 is being awarded to the Springfield Local Emergency Planning Committee.  Tim Andre will present the grants at an announcement on Monday, November 24, 2008, at 12:45 p.m., at Springfield City Hall.

Both grants support ExxonMobil Pipeline’s efforts in community outreach to responders (Police, Fire EMS, Emergency Management and Public Works) for safe pipeline operations and actions during emergencies.  The Springfield Fire Department participates in annual training sponsored by ExxonMobil and other area pipeline operators to enhance safe operations.

Tim Andre is the Lead Terminal Operator for ExxonMobil’s Springfield Terminal operation on Albany Street.  Andre and the ExxonMobil Pipeline Terminal in Springfield have been long standing and active participants with the Springfield Local Emergency Planning Committee.
