Board of Assessors & Assessors DepartmentAssessed Values for 2009The Springfield Board of Assessors has issued valuations for all Real Estate and Personal Property accounts for Fiscal Year 2009. Tax bills will be mailed on or before December 31, 2008. The values represent the full fair cash value of the property as of January 1, 2008 based on sales of comparable properties and market information during calendar year 2007 and part of 2008. The list of properties is sorted in alphabetical order by street name. FY 2009 Overvalue ApplicationsTaxpayers disputing the assessment must complete an Overvalue Application and submit it to the Assessors Office 36 Court Street Springfield MA 01103. Overvalue applications are due in the Assessors Office by February 2, 2009. This deadline cannot be extended or waived by the Assessors for any reason. If your application is not timely filed, you lose all rights to abatement and the Assessors, by law, cannot grant you one. As application is filed when received by the Assessors or postmarked to the proper address of the Assessors on or before the filing deadline. The filing of an overvalue application does not stay the collection of the tax.
