The Springfield Economic Growth Initiative is an 18-month process that will ultimately compliment the ULI study done last year.  The primary difference is that the ULI was designed as a 5-year plan around Real Estate development, while MassINC and UMass will be here to design and help implement a 20-year Growth Strategy concentrated around Business/Commercial development.  Considering the difficult economic situation that the country is facing, this project could not have come at a better time.

MassINC and UMass will give a brief presentation to the public about who they are and what they will accomplish.  Immediately following, they will open the floor to public comments and questions to help guide the early stages of the process.
