City focuses revitalization efforts on North End

Mayor Charles V. Ryan announced today that the city’s North End will be targeted for the next revitalization program. Ryan made the announcement as demolition of the long abandoned building at 14 Grosvenor St. got underway at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 30, 2007. More

The mayor was joined by Rep. Cheryl Coakley-Rivera; Juan Gerena, director of Community Development; Michael Denney, executive director of the New North Citizens Council; and Maria Perez, president of the Spanish Merchants Association who have long championed for revitalization of the neighborhood.

Mayor Ryan has asked for a comprehensive assessment of the streets and neighborhoods comprising the North End.
