Mayor Domenic J. Sarno and Acting Police Commissioner William Fitchet will hold a press conference on Friday, Feb. 8 a.m. at 2 p.m. at the Springfield Police Department Pearl Street headquarters. Fitchet and Sarno will release details related to the newly-created Ordinance Squad at that time.

The original announcement, scheduled for a press conference at 11:30 a.m. Feb. 6, was postponed in order to address the unfolding issue of injured police officer Kevin Fitzgerald.
