(August 18, 2008) – Mayor Domenic J. Sarno will be joined by Springfield Business Improvement District President Jeff Keck and members of the Clean Team for a press conference on Tuesday, Aug. 19th at 1 p.m. on the Sovereign Bank Plaza. During the press conference, Sarno will recognize the success of the SBID’s efforts to maintain a clean and attractive downtown.
Over the summer, the SBID invested in gum removal and pressure washing machinery and spearheaded efforts to create an attractive and sparkling downtown.
“Nothing defines a city more than its downtown and the BID has helped the city put its best foot forward,” said Mayor Domenic J. Sarno. “Whether you work, live, play or just pass through the area, you can’t help but appreciate the hanging flowers, tree plantings and overall downtown cleanliness.”
Downtown businesses that excel in maintaining their property will also be recognized at the press conference.
In the event of rain, the press conference will be held at Springfield City Hall in the Office of the Mayor.
