Can I re-join the city trash program after I leave it?
The participation in the city’s trash service is voluntary. You can choose not to participate in the program by responding to the city’s April 17, 2007 first quarterly bill mailing. If the city does not hear from you by June 22, 2007, the city will assume that you do not want the city to collect your trash and your city-issued trash bin(s) will be taken by the city. Any payments made in fiscal year 2008 are non-proratable and non-refundable.
If you choose to re-join the city’s trash fee program, the city will assign the requested number of city-issued trash can(s) to your property, if your property qualifies for trash service under the current rules and regulations. The trash fee is $90 per city-issued trash can and is non-proratable irrespective of the date when you join the program. The city reserves the right not to accept requests for new or returning service for certain properties, such as multiple dwelling and commercial units. There is currently no additional service charge to re-join the program.
