Star spangled Springfield

Sunday, July 4, 2010, Springfield’s Riverfront Park will be prime real estate to enjoy the MassMutual Star Spangled Springfield festivities. Beginning at 7:30PM, the Air National Guard Band of Northeast will perform in Festival Field. The musical selections will include an array of patriotic favorites including “Star Spangled Banner,” “God Bless America,” “God Bless the U. S. A.” and the “Service Medley.”
At 9:30PM, Fireworks by Grucci will ignite their rockets with a 20-minute fireworks display choreographed to music broadcast on Mix 93.1FM. They will be dancing to “Birthday” by the Beatles, “Smile” by Uncle Kracker, “Party in the USA” by Miley Cyrus, “Think (Freedom)” by Aretha Franklin and more.
“We encourage everyone to join us in Riverfront Park. It looks beautiful with the riverbank cleared, the green lawns and the majestic Memorial Bridge,” said Mayor Sarno.
The 2010 Independence Day festivities marks the 5th year that MassMutual Financial Group has been the lead sponsor.
