City Hall Council Chambers Renovation

The move to ward representation for Springfield increased the City Council members from nine to thirteen.  This expansion required reconfiguration of the Chambers to accomodate the four additional Councilors.

The Council Chamber renovation project included new, larger desks, electrical upgrades and new carpet.  Bids for the new desks were opened on December 2, 2009.  The contract was awarded to Wright Architectural Millwork.

The Springfield Media and Technology Group presented the City with a $100,000 technology grant for upgrades to the existing camera lighting system and a new sound system for the Council Chambers.

Construction began on February 1, 2010 and the project completed December, 2010.
