Springfield Businessman Earns National Award

April 16, 2008 - Members of the business community joined Mayor Domenic J. Sarno for a brief ceremony recognizing the accomplishment of Robert J. Schwarz.

Schwarz, executive vice president of Peter Pan Bus Lines in Springfield, is the 2008 recipient of the U.S. Interagency Council on Homelessness Community Champion Award. Co-chairman of the city's committee to end homelessness, Schwarz was presented the prestigious award during a ceremony in Washington, D.C. at the National Press Club.

He is the nation's sole recipient of the prestigious award.
