Registration begins at 5:00 PM the auction begins at 6:00 PM. The Auctions will be conducted ballroom-style, at Springfield City Hall located at 36 Court Street, Springfield, MA 01103.
The property auction portfolio is diverse; a 41,000 square foot industrial zoned property, several single and multi-family homes, lots of land, a residential condominium, an auto repair shop, retail space and two large office condominiums.
"Open Houses are a great way for a bidder to familiarize themselves with a property prior to the actual auction," said City Treasurer Salvatore Calvanese. "The key for anyone interested in an auction property is to do your homework and research as much as you can. Open houses help bidders in that process". Calvanese said he expects developers, builders and property abutters to be among those bidding for a chance to buy real estate at below market value.
