Tops in Blue is an international touring group comprised of 40 members of the U.S. Air Force, each selected for their entertainment abilities.  After 50 years, the all-active duty U.S.A.F. special unit is the oldest and most widely traveled group of its kind. Their performance at Forest Park will honor those who have served in the Air Force in the past and present.

“Airmen from throughout the Commonwealth continue to be key players in the global War on Terror,” said Massachusetts Air National Guard Major General Michael Akey.  “They are your family, neighbors and friends.  Air Force Week gives the citizens of our state the opportunity to pause and remember that there are talented, dedicated professional Airmen serving around the world day and night to keep America safe.”

Admission to the free event begins at 5 p.m. and families are invited to come early with a picnic dinner to better enjoy the park and the festivities.  A number of pre-show activities are planned, including displays of military equipment.  In the event of rain, the concert will be moved to Springfield Symphony Hall in downtown Springfield.

This performance is being presented by the Spirit of Springfield, the Massachusetts Air National Guard and the Springfield Parks Division.  It is sponsored locally by the MassMutual Financial Group.  For more information about the event call the Spirit of Springfield at (413) 733-3800.
