FY 2006 Basic Financial Statement - Report on Examination of Basic Financial Statements for the Fiscal Year Ending June 30, 2006

The city auditor, appointed by the mayor and confirmed by the City Council for a three-year term, maintains the city's financial records and prepares its financial statements. The auditor performs an annual audit with the assistance of an independent firm, keeps track of the city's financial position, and must satisfy the mayor, the Department of Revenue, outside leasing companies, and the bond-rating agencies as to the city's solvency.
