10-327 - Services: Asbestos Abatement at 1592 Main Street

The City of Springfield (the Awarding Authority) invites sealed bids from contractors for Asbestos Abatement at 1592 Main Street, Springfield, Massachusetts in accordance with the documents prepared by ATC Associates Inc. dated May 12, 2010.
The Project consists of removal and disposal of asbestos-containing materials as specified under the Contract by a Massachusetts licensed Asbestos Abatement Contractor. All removal and disposal shall be performed in accordance with local, state and federal regulations. The Project is estimated to cost $620,000.00
Bids are subject to M.G.L. c.149 sec.44A (2) (B) and to minimum wage rates as required by M.G.L. c.l49 §§26 to 27H inclusive.
Pre-Bid Conference: A MANDATORY pre-bid conference and site walk-through will be held on Wednesday, May 26, 2010 beginning at 1:00 P.M. at the site. This meeting will provide an opportunity for interested parties to inspect the site and all particulars and resolve questions regarding the scope of work, existing conditions and the specifications.
The City of Springfield supports the goal of twenty percent minority and women participation in all contracts. The Chief Procurement Officer reserves the right to waive any informality in and to reject any or all bids if it is in the public interest to do so. No questions will be answered unless received by the Chief Procurement Officer by close of business on (May 28, 2010).
