The Collector Treasurer, appointed by the mayor for a three-year term, prepares the city payroll and tax bills and collects payments of real estate, personal property, and excise taxes as well as water and sewer payments, gun permit fees and parking fines. This office also prepares the annual list of real estate tax delinquents and invests city funds to cover both short and long-term debt.
