The City of Springfield, its Implementation Committee leaders, and its point person on homelessness, Geraldine McCafferty, have received multiple awards for this initiative.

• HAP Housing honored Geraldine McCafferty, the City of Springfield’s point person on homelessness, with its “Collaborator Award” at its November 2008 annual meeting.
• The Pioneer Valley Planning Commission gave the City of Springfield  its Outstanding Regional Service Award in June 2008.
• The United Way of Pioneer Valley presented the City of Springfield and Homes Within Reach Implementation Committee its Kevin Hamel Community Building Award in May 2008.
• The US Interagency Council on Housing and Homelessness honored Robert Schwarz with its “Home for Every American Award” in April 2008 for his outstanding community leadership regarding homelessness.
• The Massachusetts Housing and Shelter Alliance gave its Cornerstone Award to Geraldine McCafferty in April 2008.
• In 2008, the Massachusetts Department of Mental Health presented Geraldine McCafferty with a Certificate of Appreciation for her work on ending homelessness for mentally ill individuals.
