Hubbard Park Field House
This community building was closed to the public due to water damage caused by poor drainage around the building. With Community Development Block Grant funds, the following improvements were made: re-grading the front of the building to allow for handicap accessibility into the building, a new catch basin installation with new rain gutters tied into the drainage system, existing doorways widened to comply with ADA guidelines for accessibility, including replacing doors throughout. Additional work involved a complete gutting of the interior of the building and new interior finishes, handicap accessible restroom facilities, small office, and a new open activity room. This project reopened the field house and created a new space in the Indian Orchard neighborhood, in which the Elder Affairs Department will offer activities and programming to the Senior Citizens community.
