White Street Fire Station

Current Oakland Street Fire Station

A new fire station, to be located at White and Vermont Streets, is in the planning stage.  It will replace the Oakland Street and Sumner Avenue Stations, which are the oldest (built in 1894 and 1925, respectively) and in the poorest condition of all the Springfield Fire Department fire stations.  The new station will house Engine 3 and Ladder 3 companies and serve the neighborhoods of Forest Park, La Broad, East Forest Park, Maple High and Outer Belt.

Projected cost of the new station is $4 million, and funding will come from City Bonds.
