A water leak damaged plaster and paint finishes in the Mayor's Private Office, the City Hall Council Chambers, and the ceiling in the grand staircase.  Using this opportunity, the existing decorative painting on the ceilings in both the Mayor's Private Office and the City Council Chambers was refurbished, and the grand staircase ceiling will be repaired before an original, commissioned canvas mural depicting the history of Springfield will be installed.
