Tire Repairman
Summary:
This is routine garage work in servicing and repairing tires of motor vehicles. Work involves the maintenance of automative tires and the operation of equipment for such purpose. Work is performed under supervision in accordance with well-established routine or prior instructions with review during process or upon completion.
RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to: - Examines and repairs tires of motor vehicles of all sizes by locating and sealing punctures, and by patching tires and tubes.
- Removes, balances and replaces tires, tubes and wheel assemblies.
- Operates and maintains equipment necessary to sevice tires, including pneumatic tools, lifts and jacking devices.
- Performs related work as required.
SKILLS/COMPENTENCIES REQUIRED include, but are not limited to: - Considerable knowledge of the standard practices, materials, tools, equipment and techniques required in repairing tires.
- Knowledge of the standard methods and procedures in servicing and repairing automotive equipment.
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written insturctions.
- Skill in the use and care of tools, equipment and materials or the trade.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: - Considerable experience in repairing automotive tires
- Graduation from a standard high school or vocational schools
