Description:
This city-owned 3 acre site was formerly home to a 100,000 SF turn-of-the-century textile mill. The building burned to the ground in 2003. The City secured $200,000 for cleanup of remaining Brownfield issues, which has been completed. The site has frontage on Main, Central, and Winthrop streets. In the summer of 2009, the city utilized CDBG funding to do site grading and other property upgrades.

Remediation of this site was completed in the summer of 2008 with clean up grant funds from the U.S. Environmental Projection Agency (EPA).The Gemini site is one of the development sites highlighted in the South End Revitalization Plan. Future use of this site is yet to be determined.
