Springfield and the Western Massachusetts Region hosts several world class colleges.
In Springfield, American International College, Springfield College, Western New England College, and Springfield Technical Community College offer a wide variety of areas of study at both the undergraduate and graduate level.
For K-12 schools, Springfield's school system educates around 25,000 students a year in 43 public schools, 4 alternative schools, and 3 charter schools. Private and parochial schools include the MacDuffie School, the Academy Hill School, Cathedral High School, Pioneer Valley Montessori School, Pioneer Valley Christian School, Our Lady of Hope, Our Lady of Sacred Heart, Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Holy Name and Holy Cross.
Located just a half block from Court Square is the Community Music School, dedicated to accessible music instruction and participation for children. The school is housed in a 1933 Art Deco building just a few steps east on State Street.
