Main Street Improvement Project
Project Manager: Al Chwalek, DPW Description: The $2.5 million Main Street improvements are nearing completion with new pavement, sidewalks, pressed crosswalks and new lighting from the railroad arch at Lyman Street to Howard Street in the South End. These improvements were necessary from an infrastructure standpoint and have created improved look and feel to the main corridor in downtown, adding more value and appeal to properties. Several Main Street private investments are expected to follow, including multiple new restaurant openings, a new bank opening, and a potential theatre restoration. Main Street improvements will continue to the North End with a state funded project, and to the South End with a city and state funded project. More Municipal Project Updates:
