STCC unveils monument at 20th Annual Police Memorial Day Service

The Western Massachusetts Chiefs of Police Association honored 37 fallen officers during a ceremony at Springfield Technical Community College, home of a newly erected memorial monument.

Springfield Green Efforts Reach National Audience

May 9, 2008 - The ReStore Home Improvement Center announced today that it has just completed dismantling a 1,900-sq.-ft. home in Weston, Mass., which is part of the project that will be featured this fall on the Emmy-winning PBS television series This Old House. Read More.

Mayor Sarno's First 100 Days

Inspectional Services Report Released

The Matrix Consulting Group was retained by the Springfield Financial Control Board to conduct an Organizational Review of Inspectional Services. The scope of this study included the Building Department, Health Department, Housing Department and Fire Department. Download the final report or view the PowerPoint presentation.

Springfield Announces Findings for Community Development Block Grant

The City of Springfield, in partnership with the UMass Donahue Institute, has announced the findings of a federally mandated assessment and study establishing priorities for the expenditure of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds for economic development in Springfield’s low and moderate income neighborhoods. Liberty Mutual Bringing 300 Jobs to Springfield

People Are Talking - A talk show out of City Hall

People Are Talking is a talk show that highlights the positive transformations and developments taking place in Springfield. The show can be seen daily on Comcast Channel 17 at 8 a.m., noon, 7 p.m. and 11 p.m.

2008 Pool Pass Pre-Registration

Residents who wish to swim at Forest Park pool or any indoor pool sites this summer must pre-register and then obtain a free photo ID from the Parks Dept. Start by filling out the pre-registration form, once for each family member, parent first. Print your form and bring it along to one of the photo ID Card sessions to get your photo ID card quickly. ID cards will be issued starting April 23.
