Mayor’s Office of Consumer Information

The Mayor’s Office of Consumer Information, a local consumer program funded by the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office will be there to provide free consumer pamphlets and brochures and answer consumer questions.  Consumer advocates will also assist consumers in obtaining their free credit reports and provide referrals to other agencies, if necessary. Report Crime Anonymously with Text-A-Tip

To send an anonymous crime tip from any text-enabled phone:

Type in your crime tip, and be sure to include the city/town in which in the information is relevant

Springfield citizens can now text crime tips to the police safely and anonymously through the new Text-A-Tip program. The two-way text messaging system sends citizens' messages through an encrypted server in Canada, which allows 2-way text dialog while shielding the caller's number and identity from authorities. The Springfield Police Department is partnering with county, state and other regional authorities on this service. 

Fraud Hotline

Financial Accountability is a top priority for the City of Springfield. With this goal in mind, the Office of the City Auditor has created a fraud hotline that can be used to report information about fraud, waste or abuse of City resources.

If you have information regarding known or suspected misappropriation of municipal funds or resources, we encourage you to report what you know to the City’s Internal Audit Division. Learn more.
