Mayor Sarno states, “Last year our Springfield high school players took home the title with an exciting and thrilling game, winning the game with a buzzer beater giving the city of firsts yet another first to write down in our long and proud history. This year, we are looking to defend our title against Mayor Will Reichelt and his team from West Springfield. I am looking forward to cheering on our boys and girls as they look to bring the Mayors’ Cup back home to Springfield! I want to thank Big E President and CEO Gene Cassidy for once again welcoming us onto the Easter States Exposition for this wonderful community event that draws thousands of participants and spectators from all over.”

Mayor Domenic J. Sarno and West Springfield Mayor Will Reichelt are looking forward to the 2nd Annual Hooplandia event where the City of Springfield looks to defend the Mayors’ Cup in the Battle of the Springfields’. This exciting tournament will take place June 21 through June 23rd at the Eastern States Exposition and the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.
